About the event
Broommaking is back!
This workshop introduces participants to the basic skills and materials used to construct their very own whisk brooms. In this afternoon session, we will work through 2 styles of whisk brooms. Everyone will go home with a basic flat stitched whisk with a woven reed handle, and a bent turkey wing whisk (you may choose to weave the handle of this as well or keep it in the simple wrapped style).
No prior experience is needed but moderate upper body strength and manual dexterity are required. If you have sensitive hands, some well-fitting gardening gloves or fingerless work out type gloves could be helpful.
We will be working with natural materials that will be soaked prior to use. Please feel free to bring an apron or towel and wear comfortable clothing you don't mind potentially getting dirty.
FEE: $125/participant
All materials included.
